INSTALLATION
Several of WeatherPORT's smaller sized shelters are specifically designed with "slip fit" framing for rapid and frequent installation and dismantling. A minimal amount of parts and interchangeable frame components is needed, and makes installation relatively easy for 2-3 people. A relatively smaller amount of site preparation is usually necessary as well, depending upon the chosen site.
WeatherPORT's EventPORT lines, GardenPORTS, RentalPORTS and some of the smaller General Utility-PORTS utilize this easy "slip fit" framing. Please contact a WeatherPORT representative for further information on installation of specific structures within each line.
Our mid- and larger-sized shelters within in the General Utility-PORT lines usually need site preparation and some amount of professional assistance to erect. WeatherPORT provides these basic Site Preparation Guidelines to aid in erecting your structure.
SITE PREPARATION GUIDELINES
1. Job Evaluation Permits - Check with local authorities for proper building codes, zoning, and permit information. You must secure any necessary permits from you local building officials. If engineering is required, contact your WeatherPORT representative for further information and design needs. Tools - Assess the equipment and tools you will need, based on your site location and expertise. WeatherPORT structures require a minimal amount of equipment to erect.
2. Evaluation of Job Site - Property - Selecting your structure's location is of upmost importance. The location should be selected with factors like drainage, soil stability, right-of-way access, setbacks and convenience taken into account. Site Preparation; Leveling the Site Location - A level location is preferred. Ground should be prepped with road base or gravel, and compacted for easier set-up of your WeatherPORT. The leveled area should extend far enough on each side of your structure to allow for maneuverability and room for the final step of pulling the cover over your framework.
3. Erecting Your WeatherPORT - Detailed Instructions - Every WeatherPORT has been designed to give you, our customer, the highest quality product. For that reason, a complete manual of instructions with detailed diagrams is included with every structure. As with any type of building process, the more you understand, the better your success. Read the instructions carefully before you start. If at any time you find the process unclear, WeatherPORT professionals are available to assist you by phone. Remember to never work alone; most tasks take at least two people.
4. Finishing Touches - Additional Work - You are now the happy owner of a quality WeatherPORT. At this point, you may want to add other products to personalize your WeatherPORT even more. Items like curtains, garage doors, lighting, insulation, and/or HVAC can be great accessories to add that finishing touch to your WeatherPORT.
